The course is aimed at the training “designers” of fashion in the strong artisan tradition and Italian know-how for creating products in tune with the fashion industry system, its visions, its needs and its constraints.

Fashion is an important social phenomenon and can be considered as a history of a civilization in constant evolution. Fashion is an integral part of the articulated world of nonverbal communication. It is through the creation of new styles, different groups of a changing society, have communicated their identity, differentiating themselves from others. Our students seek to grasp the new trends by offering new lines that, if shared, become fashionable.


The main objective of the course of fashion design is to educate the student to consider the fashion project not only from the point of view of style, but in connection with the performance and the operating functions, as well as the symbolic and cultural values.
In particular, students acquire skills related to:

  • Understanding key scenarios, the change of behavioral habits and cultural values ​​as well as the characteristics of processes, materials, technologies and processes typical of the sector, the logic of competition, market positioning and distribution processes, sales and communication;
  • Historical and critical knowledge: sociology of consumption and fashion, culture of textiles and its historical evolution, the study of semiotics and aesthetics, anthropology; trends and consumer scenarios basic elements of the design and production of fashion products; the materials and production techniques;
  • Techniques and tools for the representation of the product: the design manual, technical drawing, photography, the creation of models and prototypes of products;
  • Acquiring financial and operational skills: organizational and management, corporate strategy and management; strategies for communication and sales of the product-fashion: visual merchandising, events, exhibitions and showrooms, magazines, corporate identity.
